About Pride of the Rockies
The “Pride of the Rockies” is the marching band here at the University of Northern Colorado. This ensemble comprises both music majors and non-music majors from across our beautiful campus. The Pride performs at every home football game, school-related events (such as Convocation and the Homecoming Bonfire), and public events across the state of Colorado.
Each year, The Pride of the Rockies travels to various high school marching band events across the state to perform for the community. These events serve as a recruitment method as well as a reward for current members.
Why give?
Your gift to Pride of the Rockies will support the 150+ members of the ensemble in a multitude of ways, including:
- Purchasing new uniforms
- Dry cleaning for uniforms, which costs approx. $3,500 for the whole band
- Purchasing and maintaining instruments (as an example, percussion instrument purchases can total $5,000+)
- Section leader salaries
How will your gift be used?
We are very excited to use future funding for additional recruitment trips and the purchase of new drumline instruments. Our drumline instruments and equipment were purchased over a decade ago. The purchase of these materials would benefit the student musicians by providing more ergonomically designed equipment and better-sounding instruments.
